“Unmaking The Bomb” Book Cover Art

It was a pleasure to provide a painting for the cover of Shannon’s new book. In Unmaking the Bomb, Shannon considers what it means to reckon with an increasingly contaminated world and how particular ways of knowing and regulating toxic conditions defines our health, safety, and security. My painting, with it’s cracked surface and birds in flight, is a perfect reflection of this book’s intent. Published in 2023.

“Red Sky at Morning” Book Cover Art

Harper Collins Publishing asked me to illustrate the cover of the classic novel Red Sky at Morning by Richard Bradford. A coming of age story set in the Southwest, this was a perfect assignment. Using black and white scratchboard, I created a simple image that conveys the open sky and landscape of Northern New Mexico. It was important to include a non specific human element, so I added the adobe house. Published in 2020.
